When I found out that we were going to be working on wiki's, I started to panic. I have NEVER head of them before, but after we started to go over what they were all about, I got really excited. I think this is a great tool to have as a teacher. If you ever get stuck and can't seem to come up with a really great idea, you could go to the wiki and find ample amounts of lesson plans and ideas. I am actually really excited to be doing this, so I have been thinking about what I can do for my book.
I was also really excited to get Macbeth. I have read it dozens of times and I have always loves Shakespeare. I just have to read over it once again to get the feel of the play once more, and then I should be good to go!
As for the Cleveland Film Fesitval, I am so excited! I love movies but I never seem to be able to get out and see them. I think the money issue is also a problem, but I am really excited to make a day out of the festivities. Maybe even some shopping? lol I just hope I don't get lost in Cleveland. Every single time I go there, which is not often, I almost hit a bus. So wish me luck since I am going to need it. I still have not decided which movie I am going to see, but I will decide that very soon and hopefully buy tickets online.

I think the wiki is going to be a really great tool too. It will be nice during student teaching especially to be able to have a source like this to get ideas from. It is a great way to have us work together and help prepare each other for teaching!
ReplyDeleteI think the Wikis will be a great tool as well. I have never read Lord of the Flies, the book I received, but because I know I will most likely have to teach it, this assignment will give me a plethora of ideas when teaching the book.
ReplyDeleteAbout the film festival, I'm excited for it as well. I haven't decided which movie to see yet, but I'm really interesting in foreign films so I'll most likely see something that comes from Italy.
I had never heard of a Wiki before either! Now that I know what they are, I think they will be a good tool to use. Next year when we are student teaching, if we happen to teach a book on the class wiki, all we have to do is find the book and check out the lessons associated with it. I think that this will definitely be something helpful to us!

Haha well perhaps we will stumble upon each other about an hour away from our destination. (jk) I am so glad I now have a GPS system. One time I still managed to get lost while using it. I think I win that one. And I also am really excited about the wiki! I think this will be an AMAZING tool for all of us!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard about wiki's before this class either! Actually, I was not expecting this project to be so informative and useful. In fact, I assumed that I would gain nothing from this project and it would be a waste of time. But as it turns out, I am really glad I got to creat a wikipage because it is a very useful tool in order to gain and share information. As a class, we have developed a tool that will help us as we create units as actual teachers!
